Melody Fury (now Tam) is a very good friend of mine, whom I don’t see nearly as often as I wish. Melody and I both write about food (though my blog is more of a smorgasbord) and I do have a lot of faith on her opinion as a foodie. Melody is also an entrepreneur and she’s organized several food tours (she organized the first Vancouver Food Tour I ever heard about).
Melody told me that she’s organizing a Gastown Craft Beer n’ Bites Tour and I thought I’d let you know about it since I am particularly fond of Gastown (my office at The Network Hub is located literally on the edge of Gastown and I have patronized Gastown restaurants, pubs and drink lounges for more than a decade).
Gastown Craft Beer ‘n Bites Tour
Monday to Sunday – $75
By no means a pub crawl, explore Gastown’s exciting craft beer scene on Vancouver Food Tour’s beer-centric culinary tour. With a passionate beer educator as your guide, curious beer lovers and serious beer enthusiasts alike will discover, enjoy and discuss craft brews alongside a variety of food pairings. Each destination features unique aspects of beer such as: beer history and brewing process, beer cocktails, modern gastropub snacks, how to pair beer and food, North West style beers, International selections, and more. Hop on board and meet fellow beer devotees as we taste, sip, and bite through historic Gastown.
Tour Includes:
Beer tastings at each of the 3 destinations (3 beer flights)
Delectable, hand-selected food pairings
Informative and interactive guided walking tour
Gratuities to your guide are highly appreciated
Time: Weekdays at 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Friday and Saturday at 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
Price: $75 CDN per person + HST
Meeting and Ending Spot: Inside Waterfront Station at 601 West Cordova Street at the public meeting area between Small Business BC and Starbucks. This is a 19+ event.
I am hoping I’ll be able to check out one of Melody’s Gastown Craft Beer ‘n Bites Tour sometime soon, as it sounds like a lot of fun!
